Island Scene magazine, and its companion website, are published by Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA), a Hawaii health plan provider. This health and lifestyle magazine commands the largest subscriber audience in the state of Hawaii. I had the great pleasure of winning a highly-competitive Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) internship at Island Scene during the summer of 2008.
Island Scene is a quarterly publication. As of Fall 2008, my work will begin to appear in the magazine in January 2009. Some of my articles have also appeared on Akamai Living, an online health website.
The companion website to Island Scene magazine highlights stories from the print publication. It also publishes exclusive online articles, stories and columns. I have written various pieces for the website. Some of these articles are listed below. Island Scene Online will continue to publish new pieces by me through 2009. This page will be updated monthly with new listings of published work.
Island Scene Online is published biweekly.
